35-Year Guarantee Announced for our Roofline Products
Kestrel Building Products has introduced a 35-year guarantee on all of its calcium organic white product range.
The new business-to-consumer guarantee covers the entire range including fascia boards, bargeboards, window boards, cladding, siding and window trims.
Kestrel sales and marketing director Simon Reynolds said: “As a company our aim is to lead innovation and provide top quality products for our customers. This is the first guarantee of its kind for PVCU and PVCUE building products. It helps to future proof the customer's investment not only regarding performance but in terms of legislation and peace of mind too.
“As anyone in our industry can attest, guarantees like this only mean something if they come from companies that have a long and stable history. Kestrel's guarantees are backed up by a 38-year history in the industry. Quite simply we wouldn't put our name to a guarantee if we weren't 100% confident in the products we manufacture.”
Network Veka Chosen for Goverment's Green Deal
NETWORK VEKA is one of 33 national organisations to be chosen for assessment under the Green Deal initiative. The announcement comes from UKAS, which will now assess all the bodies on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change before the launch of the Government initiative later in 2012. Final plans for the Green Deal have yet to be revealed by the Government but any inclusion of replacement windows will mean installers will have to be accredited by one of the chosen bodies from the UKAS list. Network VEKA MD John Ogilvie said: “The Green Deal is likely to have a major influence on the way people look at improving their home Our acceptance as part of that initiative will make it quicker and easier for our installer members to take part themselves and apply for certification. “They already enjoy facilities such as our ‘Assure’ self-certification scheme; the Green Deal accreditation will be one more way that Network VEKA makes life a little easier for its members.”

Standards group accepts Oakwood

Chagford-based home improvement company Oakwood Home Improvements Ltd has been accepted as a member of the respected trade organisation Network VEKA.
The company, based on Stone Lane, had to go through rigorous vetting before being accepted but, as MD Brian Johnston explained, that is only the beginning of the scrutiny the company must now undergo:
“The whole principle of Network VEKA is the standard of quality and integrity that it sets for its members,” he added.
“The organisation will not only run a regular audit of factors such as our staff training and use of guarantees but will actually survey every one of our future customers to monitor how good a job we have done.
“It’s a tough regime but we are sure we are up to it.”
The company was incorporated in 2002, and owner Brian Johnston has over 26 years experience of designing and installing high quality windows, doors and conservatories for customers throughout Devon and the surrounding area.
Network VEKA represents almost 140 independent window and conservatory companies all over Britain and Ireland. This year, members will carry out more than 16,000 installations to the value of nearly £65 million.
